Historic Preservation on Maxwell Block

Maxwell Block, located on Main Street in Dansville, NY, has a rich history, having originally housed an opera circuit before later serving as a library. Currently, the second and third floors are abandoned. Through historic preservation efforts, the Maxwell Block will be transformed into four new large, open, two-story apartments. Key elements such as the existing doors, windows, trim, and railings will be preserved to maintain the historic look, while new paint colors will introduce a modern feel to this 149-year-old building.
